Terms of Service

Last updated September 2026

By booking with Lubbock Turkey Fry ("we," "us"), you agree to the following terms. These exist to set clear expectations so the process goes smoothly for everyone.

What we do

Lubbock Turkey Fry is a seasonal turkey frying service operating in Lubbock, Texas during the Thanksgiving season. We deep-fry whole turkeys in peanut oil and return them cooked and ready to serve.

The bird

BYOT (Bring Your Own Turkey): You provide a whole, frozen turkey between 17 and 19 pounds. The bird must arrive frozen at least five days before your scheduled cook date so we can thaw it safely ourselves. We do not accept pre-thawed, brined, pre-stuffed, or previously cooked birds.

Bird-supplied option: For an additional $50, we purchase a Butterball turkey from H-E-B, thaw it, and have it ready. We select the bird; you do not choose the exact weight within the 17–19 lb range.

We reserve the right to reject any turkey that does not meet our size or condition requirements. If your bird is rejected, we will notify you immediately and work with you on alternatives.

Drop-off & pickup

This is a drop-off and pickup service only. We do not deliver. You are responsible for dropping off your bird during the scheduled window and picking up the cooked turkey at your designated time. The pickup location and address are provided in your confirmation email.

If you do not pick up your turkey within one hour of your scheduled pickup time, we cannot guarantee food quality or safety. Unclaimed turkeys after one hour become our property.

Pricing & payment

Pricing is tiered by booking date. The price you pay is the price in effect when you complete your Stripe checkout. All prices are listed on our main page and include the cook service only. The bird-supplied option and multi-bird discounts are applied at checkout.

Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment information. Sales tax is calculated and collected by Stripe where applicable.

For our cancellation and refund terms, see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Peanut oil — allergy warning

Every turkey we fry is cooked in peanut oil. If anyone eating the turkey has a peanut allergy, this service is not appropriate for them. By booking, you acknowledge this and accept responsibility for informing your guests.

Food safety & liability

We take food safety seriously and follow established practices for deep-frying turkey, including proper thaw procedures, oil temperature management, and safe handling. However, Lubbock Turkey Fry is a small seasonal operation, not a licensed commercial kitchen.

By booking, you acknowledge that you are purchasing a cooking service at your own risk. We are not responsible for foodborne illness, allergic reactions (including but not limited to peanut allergies), or any injury or damage resulting from the consumption, transport, or handling of the cooked turkey after pickup.

You are responsible for proper handling and storage of your turkey after pickup. The USDA recommends consuming or refrigerating cooked poultry within two hours.

Capacity & availability

We operate with limited equipment and a fixed cook schedule. Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to cap the number of orders at any time to protect service quality.

In the event of equipment failure, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our control, we may need to cancel or reschedule bookings. In such cases, you will receive a full refund.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms before the season begins. The version in effect at the time of your booking is the version that applies to your order.
